As part of a campaign to kindle interest in classical theatre, Caixa Escena conceived an area for the Children’s Christmas Park where boys and girls could see all of the skills and trades involved in theatre production. We designed a 600m stand for the different workshops – make-up, costume design, scenery and lighting – where the children, accompanied by the actors themselves, could put together a production which was then performed. Hortzmuga Teatroa was the project’s artistic director, with a group of 20 dramatising the experience, from the arrival of the children to the performance of the scenes they had directed; an ad-hoc performance which involved over 5,000 boys and girls.
